BIO

Jim Wooding was a keen Redleg supporter since his early days at St Morris Public School.

A tall, red-haired forward, he played Colts football with the likes of Bob Fosdike, Peter Aish, Jim Liebelt, Gordon Couch and Ken Horsnell, but he sat on the bench throughout his only league game.  Jim's explanation for his truncated career at Norwood was that, emboldened by a few ales, he had asked coach Jack Oatey's wife, Mary, for a dance at a club social and they had slipped over on the dance floor.

Jim was cleared to North Adelaide and was best and fairest for Mypolonga in the River Murray Football League in 1960 He later became an amateur league umpire.  He also played cricket for East Torrens as a legspinner.
