BIO
Stanley Von Doussa was educated at Hahndorf and at St Peter's College in Adelaide.
Like his elder brother Frank, Stan played most of his football with the Mount Barker Football Club. They also played cricket in the same local team.
A fine mark and kick, Stan was a hard working ruckman/key position player, noted for his cool headedness.
On 4 May 1895 the brothers played in an internal trial for Mount Barker and later in the month represented the "Mounts" against St Paul's (a city combination).
Then on 13 July, Von Doussa played for Mount Barker against the Railway Offices - a team strengthened by many league footballers.
Whilst only a junior, Von Doussa was impressive as a follower in the senior game against Port Adelaide, on the Alberton Oval on 27 July 1895. Final scores : Norwood 5.3 to Port Adelaide 3.8. He was named in the best players but unfortunately was not available for the all important match against South Adelaide the following week.
It was difficult for Stan Von Doussa to keep travelling from Mount Barker, and subsequently did not play with Norwood in 1896.
A fine sportsman, he also played A Grade with the East Torrens Cricket Club
