BIO
Ernest Joseph Vercoe (Verco) first played league football for North Adelaide in 1909. A strong overhead mark, he played 10 games for North in his debut season, before transferring to Norwood in 1910.
Vercoe appeared for his new club in the opening round of the 1910 season and went on to play 12 games for the year. He was also in the Norwood touring party that travelled to Tasmania mid-season to play matches against Southern Tasmania in Hobart and the Tasmanian Northern Association in Launceston.
Named as a forward pocket/follower, he was impressive in Norwood's second-semi final loss to Sturt. In what was possibly his best performance of the season, Vercoe's fine marking saw him listed as one of the better players for the match.
Vercoe played another 11 games in 1911, and seven in 1912.
