BIO

Glen Vardanega was educated at St Josephs High School Broken Hill and was recruited by Norwood from North Broken Hill in 1983. He made his senior debut against Richmond in the Sterling Cup Night series.

In 1984, Vardanega played 21 games for the reserves, but more importantly was a member of the league side that came from fifth position at the end of the minor round to defeat Port Adelaide in the Grand Final. He kicked two vital goals in the decider and provided plenty of drive from his half-forward flank.

Vardanega made 21 senior appearances in 1985, and eight the following year. He was a member of the 1985 and 1986 reserves premiership teams; the Redlegs trouncing Woodville on both occasions.

After appearing in only two Escort Cup pre-season matches in 1987, he moved to Turvey Park in the Riverina Football League where he had further premiership success.

He was back with Norwood in 1990 and played a few games in the reserves.

Vardanega represented the Riverina Football League and was captain-coach of Turvey Park,in the early 1990's.
