BIO
Jonathon Tumes first played football for the Burnside Primary School. He later attended Marryatville High School, and played junior football for Norwood.
In the early part of his career, Tumes played predominantly as a key forward. However, in his second year of under 19s he was moved to defence and developed into a rebounding full-back.
Tumes made his league debut late in the 1992 season and played in the last three minor round games after he had started the season in the under 19's.
He consolidated his spot at full-back in 1993, playing in 28 senior games, including the losing Grand Final against Woodville-West Torrens.
The following year he suffered stress fractures of the shin twice and in a injury-stricken season, only played two games for the league side and 15 for the reserves.
In 1995 he made 19 league appearances. His 50th career game was on the 22nd July 1995 against Central District at Norwood. Tumes was also a member of the 1995 reserves Grand Final team that trounced South Adelaide by 84 points. He played another nine games for the reserves in 1996.
Tumes later transferred to South Adelaide, and played 13 league games in 1999.
