In 2009 he was named in the All/Australian team at the Under 18 AFL national championships.
He was picked up in the AFL rookie draft by the Western Bulldogs and subsequently tied to Williamstown FC (VFL) playing 42 games.
He did not gain AFL selection for the Bulldogs however and was delisted at the end of the 2012 season. Returning to The Parade, he developed into a match winning big bodied midfielder.
In 2014 he was named best on ground in the Redlegs Grand Final victory over Port Adelaide and received the coveted Jack Oatey Medal.
He was also runner-up in Norwood's Club Champion award and was also awarded the Woods Medal for outstanding service to the club.

His excellent form continued and he was named Norwood's 2015 Club Champion. In 2017 he won the Woods Medal for a second time and was runner-up in the 2018 Club Champion award.
Panos reached his 100 game milestone in 2019.
In 2022 he played in another flag, kicking the winning goal in the Grand Final that got the Redlegs over the line by one point against North Adelaide.
The 2024 Grand Final was his last match for Norwood. He had suffered a severe knee injury in the fourth round and the premiership decider was his just fifth game for the club. His outstanding career had come to an end, after 150 league games for the Redlegs.
