BIO

Lewis Taylor Johnston was born in Port Pirie in South Australia on March 3, 1991.

In 2008 he made the All Australian team selected at the end of the Under 18 national championships.

He played for the North Adelaide Roosters in the SANFL from 2012 to 2014 (35 games, 92 goals).

A key forward, Johnston was selected by the Sydney Swans with pick 12 of the 2008 AFL draft. At the end of the 2011 season, he was traded back to the Adelaide Crows, having played just two senior games for the Swans.

He played eight games for the Crows (2012-2014), but was delisted at the end of the 2014 season..

A key forward/utility, he was an excellent kick and a strong mark with clean ground skills.

His development was hampered however, by serious long term leg injuries, which included a broken foot, syndesmosis and a broken leg.

Delisted by the Adelaide Crows in 2014, Johnston returned to North Adelaide before joining Norwood where he had an impressive stint from 2016 to 2020 .

He was the club's leading goal kicker (31) in his first season, and played State football for South Australia in the same year.

2019 was probably his best season for the Redlegs, as he finished third in the Magarey Medal count and third in the club's best and fairest award.

After four games in 2020, injury ended Johnston's SANFL career.

He later transferred to the Golden Grove Football Club (Adelaide Footy League) in 2022, and was a key player in the Kookaburra's climb up to Division 1.
