BIO

Matthew Ahmat had been very impressive while representing the Northern Territory in the 1991 Teal Cup, the under 17's national championships.
 
From the Darwin Football Club in the Northern Territory Football League, Ahmat joined the Brisbane Bears for the 1991 AFL season, and played six games over the following two years.
 
Ahmat then joined Norwood in 1993 and made his league debut in round five . The wingman played fourleague games and five reserves in his first year at the Parade.
 
The Sydney Swans selected him in the 1993 mid-season draft, and Ahmat played two AFL games early in 1994.
 
He was delisted by the Swans, and in 1996 he played another five games for the Norwood reserves.
