Davis' name appears in the report of the Norwood v Medindie game held on 29 June 1889, won by Norwood 3.12 to nil
“The Norwoods had a good many men absent, including Shaw, Combe, Bertram (2), Daly, and Jackson, and amongst the players they took on were Toms, Donnithorne, Cockburn, and Davis.” ( Evening Journal Mon 1 Jul 1889 p 4)
Davis also appears in the South Australian Register report of the same game. " Davis, a new man, was in their ranks, and gave some little promise. He lacked coolness of judgement however"
