Clement Eric Sangster played Reserves and League football for Norwood in 1915 before enlisting in the Australian Imperial Force (AIF)

After starting in the Reserves he played his first League game against South Adelaide when he was named in The Advertiser list of best players. Clement played two more League games before returning to the Reserves.

Sangster's last game for Norwood was the Reserves game against North Adelaide on 31 July 1915 when he kicked the winning goal. The Advertiser on Monday 2 August recorded the moment;
“... a neat pass to Sangster put that player in possession at a fairly difficult angle. He was equal to the occasion and just as the ball sailed between the uprights the final bell rang, leaving the red and blues the winners of a most exciting match by 5 points”

The day after that report Clement Sangster enlisted in the AIF. He was wounded in action in France in 1916 and discharged from the army in 1917.
